9. Beta Period Data Use (2026)
Important Notice for Beta Participants
During the 2026 beta period, ShuttleScope may use annotated data contributed by beta participants
for the purpose of improving badminton-specific AI models, subject to the conditions below.
Scope of Data
-
Included:
Annotated match clips — short rally-level video segments (typically 5–60 seconds)
extracted from footage processed within the application — and associated label data
(shot type, court position, player action, formation, etc.)
-
Excluded:
Full match video files; directly identifying personal information such as full names
or facial recognition data
Purposes
- Improving badminton-specific player detection and shot-classification AI models
- Enhancing racket and shuttle detection accuracy
- Developing automated annotation assistance features within ShuttleScope
Data Handling
- Data collected during the beta period may continue to be used for model improvement after the beta period ends.
- Clips are processed to minimise the presence of directly identifying personal information before use in model training.
- Data will not be sold or provided to third parties for commercial purposes unrelated to ShuttleScope's model development.

If you do not wish your annotated clips and label data to be used under this section,
please notify us via the Contact form.
Reasonable opt-out requests will be accommodated on an individual basis.
